The Parklake Meals on Wheels site is a program that the Unitarians have managed since 2006.

We deliver approximately 45 meals each Wednesday and Friday. The meals are distributed into 4 routes throughout North/Central Waco from about Live Oak to Lake Shore.

Meals on Wheels drivers are a vital means of support for the recipients, making sure they are well and that they have the resources they need. Often the MOW driver is the only person that sees the client during the day. We are the eyes and ears for the Central Texas agencies that help disadvantaged, elderly and shut-in people and we couldn’t do it without your help.

The driver committment is about 1 hour per week. We pack meals between 9:30 and 10am. Drivers pick up their meals between 10 and 10:30am and deliver them to the clients – about 8 to 10 stops per route. The meals are prepared at the Meals on Wheels main office & kitchen at 5th & Waco drive.

We are always looking for sub drivers to cover for our regular drivers.

Other programs at Meals on Wheels include a grocery and pet food delivery program, transportation and local senior centers.  They operate in McLennan, Falls and Hill counties in Texas.
